Cruise for a Cause, "Stu’s Cruise – 24"
June 28 - 30, 2024

The American Legion Riders held a three-day motorcycle ride, Wisconsin Legion Riders – Cruise for a Cause, "Stu’s Cruise – 24", June 28 - 30, 2024, to raise funds for two great veteran support programs.

This event was open to the public - it was not just for Legion Riders!

$58,575 was raised for these two Wisconsin Legion Funds:

Wisconsin American Legion Troop and Family Support Fund - The mission of the Troop and Family Support Fund is to ensure that the families left behind are taken care of and that every eligible soldier receives support from The American Legion, Department of Wisconsin. The Troop and Family Support fund offers temporary assistance to active duty members, qualifying veterans and their immediate families. This is a non-budgeted restricted fund supported solely by grants and donations from both our members and the public. Every penny donated to the fund is used to support active duty members, qualifying veterans and their immediate families. All administrative costs are covered by The American Legion, Department of Wisconsin. Funds of up to $1,500 may be granted for any emergent need. These needs can range broadly, from home and auto repairs, to home accessibility updates, to bills for necessary services at risk of disconnection.

Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary Homeless Women Veterans Grant Fund (HWVGF) - This program provides a one-time only assistance grant for Wisconsin female veterans who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless. Funds are paid directly to the landlord, utility company or other vendor. The veteran is also required to be participating in a support program within or approved by the Federal or State VA system. In the last ten years the fund has made grants to deserving female veterans of almost $250,000.
