July 20, 2002 President's Note of Congratulations

The American Legion Riders Association of Wisconsin was officially recognized by the passing of a Department Resolution at the State American Legion Convention in Green Bay on 20 July 02! This was a group effort from RIDERS across the State. In the end, It took all of us working in concert with our individual Posts to get this done. A special thanks to Roy from Oshkosh WI and Matt from St Croix Falls, WI

It also included some help from ALR's in other states believe it or not. Thanks to Bill from Michigan. A special thanks to Colorado and Texas Chapters of the ALR, who have led the way on Department approval of their ALR Programs. If what I am told is right, this makes Wisconsin number 3 to get recognized...and we did it in 23 months from our conception. Way to go ALRA of WI! We are now recognized as an official association within the American Legion, Dept of Wisconsin.

Resolution passes! From left to right: P.R. Meyer (State President), Andy Martin, Nancy Helms, Dawn Martin, Jack Hill, Roy Helms (District 6 President), Kathy and Matt Kingsbury
